How old should my baby be for the session?

The perfect time for a newborn session is before your baby finishes 10 days of life. At Little New York we work with babies any age, however the earlier the session is done the easier it is for the baby. Babies grow very fast and the sleepy, curly stage doesn’t last long. We don’t guarantee sleepy poses after 2-3 weeks of age.

When should I schedule my newborn session?

It’s important to book while you’re still expecting. Studio limits the number of expecting moms to 15 clients a month to reserve some flexibility. Due dates are just estimates and we’re prepared to have a session with you within the first week after you deliver. Last minute inquires are accepted based on availability.

What should I bring for the session?

We provide everything you will need for the portraits. Our studio is filled with props, blankets, hats, headbands. You just need to bring a pacifier, formula if you’re not breastfeeding, and a few clean diapers. It’s also worth preparing a nice outfit for the portraits with the parents. Items of special value are welcomed if there’s something you’d like to include.

Do you travel to homes?

Generally we only hold newborn session in the studio. Equipment involved in the session is difficult to transport, some of the props for creative pictures aren’t portable at all. The studio is kept at 82-85 degrees and adjusted to working with our youngest clients. We will travel for a newborn session in special circumstances ( medical emergencies, unpredictable weather conditions etc.) Please call to discuss if you have any questions 718 216 9971

Are the sessions safe for my baby?

YES! Safety is extremely important. Purell is kept on hand at all times during the session. All blankets, hats are washed before every session and no softeners are used. Marzena Stergiou has extensive experience working with newborn babies and many poses you can see on the website involve creative photoshop techniques.
