First session after Sandy { Long Island City, Flushing, NYC Child, Family Photographer}

Once again a long time went by without a post. We’ve grown as a company so fast that there’s very little time left for blogging, marketing or family time. I think everyone will agree with me that the last few days have been very special for New Yorkers…….. Sandy truly surprised us with it’s demolishing power, but at the same time reminded us how important and valuable family is. We were also very surpised that our house was the only one on the whole block with electricity – you see we consider ourselves on the lower level of lucky:)I spent those last few days hugging my little boy and I’m grateful for the time I had with him.

It’s pretty amazing how in bad times communities come together. We reached out to our neighbors, and they checked on us as well. Random people started conversations with us on the street and many of our clients checked on us. Not to mention multiple photographers from all over the country who called many times despite weak signal. Thank you all for that.

I realized too that it’s been a loong time that I’ve photographed my Alex – we went out for an hour on tue afternoon. First we checked on the studio to make sure we had power ( YES! we’re running) and then to have some fun with the camera. Streets were very messy, parks closed, it was raining on and off… so we stuck around LIC. Many of you called today to reschedule your sessions and I think that it’s actually a great time to celebrate your family time – I’m sure almost everyone in NYC felt fear at some point. If not for your family or home or a car, then for someone who you knew by the beach, or in the city. Now that the city is healing and we’re slowly preparing for holiday season I see a lot of love and bonding that I’d love to capture for you. Yes that parks are closed and messy, yes you may not have power at your home, but we really don’t need a whole lot to meet and have some fun.

So to show you examples taken while the storm was slowly moving away here’s my own Alex in Long Island City post Sandy:)

Oh my goodness, I am just dying over these! They are so fabulous. The devastation of Sandy is horrible, I’m so happy though that you were able to find a little bright ray of sunshine amongst the devastation. The images are beautiful treasures! xoxo

These are just incredible. I love them! He is so grown up. I can’t believe that our babies aren’t babies anymore. What a great story to come out of an awful time.

these photos are great and capture a wonderful day beautifully. The lighting conditions were tricky, but you’d never know it from the photos.
